At a time when many were questioning the importance and purpose of school libraries, the Centenary Library at Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie) has redefined its role as the heart of the school.
The building functions more like a tertiary library, with a service orientation that extends learning beyond the traditional school day and connects students, teachers, parents, alumni, and the broader community.
The Centenary Library seeks to exemplify service to the Churchie community by supporting the orientations of academic and pastoral curricula. At the same time, it acts as a beacon, encouraging greater engagement with the parent, Old Boy, and broader educational community.
Its success since opening has established the Centenary Library as one of the most significant projects in Churchie’s 107-year history.
